About the role

Evolution Lawyers is seeking a Litigation Solicitor with 2 – 5 years relevant post qualification experience to join our growing team. This is a full-time position, providing the successful candidate with the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment.

What you’ll be doing

  • Assisting the directors with the management of general civil litigation matters, more specifically in the areas of contract, property, company, commercial, employment, construction, insolvency, trusts, and estates.
  • Drafting letters, pleadings, affidavits, submissions, and other documents required for litigation matters.
  • Researching legislation, case law, and legal commentary as required for litigation matters.
  • Drafting legal opinions for clients.
  • Attending to case management, discovery, and trial preparation for ongoing cases.
  • Managing alternative disputes resolution processes, including negotiation and mediation.
    Managing Tenancy Tribunal and Disputes Tribunal proceedings for clients.
  • Managing debt recovery and insolvency litigation – default judgments, summary judgments, judgment enforcement, bankruptcy, and liquidation.
  • Attending Court as required by the directors, including list appearances, case management conferences, judicial settlement conferences, mentions, and callovers.
  • Other attendances expected of an intermediate litigation solicitor.

About the role

Evolution Lawyers is seeking a Family Solicitor with 2 – 5 years relevant post qualification experience to join our growing team. This is a full-time position, providing the successful candidate with the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment.

What you’ll be doing

  • Assisting the directors with the management of family law matters, including those involving the Property (Relationships) Act 1976, the Care of Children Act 2004, the Family Proceedings Act 1980, the Family Protection Act 1955, and the Protection of Personal and Property Rights Act 1988.
  • Negotiating, drafting, and advising on relationship property, separation, and other contracting out agreements.
  • Researching legislation, case law, and legal commentary as required for family law matters.
  • Managing alternative disputes resolution processes, including negotiation and mediation.
  • Drafting letters, applications, pleadings, affidavits, submissions, and other documents required for family law litigation matters.
  • Attending Court as required by the directors, including list appearances, case management conferences, judicial settlement conferences, mentions, and callovers.
  • Working with other solicitors to effect conveyances, share transfers, and other transactions, and making changes to trusts, companies, and other entities, arising from separations.
  • Other attendances expected of an intermediate family law solicitor.

Evolution Lawyers is looking for a Senior Associate with 7+ years of relevant post-qualification experience in Property, Trusts, and Estates to join our growing team. This full-time position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic, supportive environment.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing property, trusts, and estates practices under the directors’ supervision, including residential and commercial conveyancing, leases, wills, estate administration, and family trust management.
  • Supervising solicitors and associates on property, trusts, and estates matters.
  • Assisting directors with disputes and litigation related to property, trusts, or estates.
  • Taking primary responsibility for managing conveyancing transactions, including signing, certifying, and releasing e-dealings.
  • Addressing client service issues and complaints.
  • Assisting directors with mentoring and training junior staff.
  • Attending networking and non-billable events to attract new work to the firm.

About the role

Evolution Lawyers is seeking an experienced Legal Executive with 3 + years post qualification experience to join our growing team. This is a full-time position, providing the successful candidate with the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment.

What you’ll be doing

  • Overseeing a range of property-related matters, including sales, purchases, and refinancing
  • Handling various trust and estate matters, including wills and Enduring Power of Attorney (EPA) documents
  • Managing company administrative tasks
  • Providing support to directors and senior authors on commercial and litigation issues when necessary
  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents such as contracts, agreements, and correspondence
  • Engaging in client meetings and presentations
  • Collaborating with the broader team to ensure outstanding client service
  • Continuously enhancing legal knowledge and keeping up with industry developments

What we’re looking for

  • At least 3 years’ post-qualification experience working in a New Zealand legal practice
  • Strong working knowledge of legal secretarial or executive work in property, trusts, and estates
